Like many others touring was limited by family &amp; work commitments, but now the children have left home and he has swapped structured (and paid) employment for the increased workload of &#8216;retirement&#8217; he is really looking forward to touring again before he forgets what the experience was like&#8230; This will be his fifth Palma match in four decades, and he has also shot at Trentham twice in the past &#8211; in 1984 with the GB team and 1990 as a prelude to representing England in the Commonwealth Games in Auckland where he won Gold in the Pairs event.<\/p>\n<p>On home soil, Simon has Captained Great Britain in the World Championships in 2003, and England in the Mackinnon and National matches.<\/p>\n<p>Off the range, Simon is now spending much of his time making sure his wife, Liz, is kept comfortable, warm and dry in their 500 year old Devon cottage (but would rather be sculpting instead!).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This will be Simon&#8217;s 7th international team tour at senior level, his last one being the GB Palma Team to the USA in 1992!
