Borden, Ontario, Canada

Tour Diary, Day 8 (Kingston Halfway House - 13/08/2025)

By Sasha Radkovskii

The weather broke overnight, giving a welcome pause to the high temperatures that we have been seeing. The Hotel we are staying in, sits on the edge of Lake Ontario. A great choice!

Team members took advantage of a relaxed day in Kingston with leisurely strolls around the town, waterfront, cafes, museums and shops. There was the opportunity to partake in a lunch boat cruise of the thousand islands area and learn a bit of history of the area. We also enjoyed the hotel facilities, pool and bar.

As we reflect on the weekend shooting in Quebec, we owe a special thanks to those who worked behind the scenes to organise the Championship, namely Nicole Rossignol, Gale Stewart, Paul Tremblay and the brilliant Range Officer duo of David Arsenault and Alain Roy. Their quiet professionalism and knowledge of the electronic target systems made the shooting both thoroughly enjoyable and stress-free.

Meanwhile, at the sharp end, Dave Rose and Simon Shouler arrived in Toronto, kindly collecting the team’s ammo and getting the GB camp set up in Angus.

Tomorrow, the main group of tourists travel to Angus to prepare for the ORA and DCRA competitions that start on Friday in Borden.

The story continues….
