Matt Purdy

Matt's shooting journey started at Gresham's School when he was 13. He then proceeded to win the Wimbledon age 17, tour to Canada with the Athelings in 2010 and get his first GB cap aged just 19. He has since been back to Canada in 2012 on Jeremy Langley's GB tour, as well as touring South Africa with the UK Armed Forces team in March 2024 alongside another of our team members, Clare.

Matt is an Officer in the Royal Artillery, currently the Adjutant of a Regiment as well as the team.

And if that was not keeping him busy enough, Matt has also recently become a father for the first time.

Christopher Heales

Whilst Christopher may have started shooting with an air rifle in his parents' garden, he is now a regular member of the Norfolk County team. He has previously toured to Canada and Guyana with England and been a member of three European Long Range teams, also appearing in the National and Lawrence. This will be his second GB tour and is looking forward to returning to Canada.

When not shooting or at work, he may be found walking the dog or occasionally cycling. He also enjoys cooking and dabbles in the world of home brewing. Happily married with 2 grown up children.

James Bullock

James first shot a fullbore target rifle at Bisley in 1992 and has been hooked ever since. He has toured with GB teams to Canada and South Africa, shot for England in the Mackinnon and National, the NRA on the Channel Islands tour and European Long Range Championship and has represented Nottinghamshire over 100 times, picking up 12 Queen's / St George's Final badges as well as 3 Grand crosses along the way.

James first toured to Canada with GB 25 years ago in 2000, so he is persistent if nothing else and somewhat bemused by where all that time went. He is excited at the prospect of returning to compete in Canada and is particularly looking forward to sharing the experience with his son Tom, who is also a member of the team (as long as he doesn’t beat him).

Outside of the shooting world, James has been involved in running the family business for 40 years. He is currently focussing on helping the concrete industry to reduce its carbon footprint, so he clearly likes a challenge. In his spare time he dabbles in writing poetry.
