GB 2022 – Canada
The day finally arrived.
After three years of anticipation, preparation, training and uncertainty due to covid restrictions, Rex Barrington’s 2020 GB team to Canada finally left UK soil, two years late, on their quest to beat teams from Canada and the USA on North American soil.
With over a metric tonne of specialist equipment and rifles, the team of over 20 people left mission control aka the SRA, heading to Heathrow in GB attire, under expert supervision of our bagggage handling supremo Reggie “The Bag man” Roberts and his right hand man Saxon “The muscle” Brewer-Marchant and Dave Talbot.
El Capitan Rex took the opportunity on the coach trip to present everyone with their GB wire badge, a particularly fulfilling moment for the 12 members of the team earning their first coveted GB cap.
The anticipated lengthy delays at airports on both sides were massaged by the expert handling of firearms checkins by Tom Rylands and his assistant Jemima Hince.
With kit loaded into 5 minivans, the team concluded 18 hours of travelling with a pizza and a cold beer in Drummondville in preparation for tomorrow’s long drive.
