Day 2 – Epic Road Trip. Montreal to Halifax

Monday 1 August

Today, we drive. A scenic 1200km of Trans-Canada highway, through the provinces of Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

Loading up early morning, taking full advantage of jet lag, 5 vans set off for 12 hours of driving to our first main destination in Halifax.

Some team members made time for a lobster lunch en route, while others looked forward to a box of Tim Horton’s timbits for a high density calorie load.

The team variously managed to visit a few tourist attractions en route, including scenic waterfalls, the worlds largest axe in Nackawic, and a magical hill where down is up. #magnetichill

One van even found time to visit Potato World in florenceville. We learned about the history of Potato farming in New Brunswick from our tour guide Jade, and the origins of the McCain family dynasty in florenceville. It was an ‘eye’ opening tour!

Did you know, one in every three french fries eaten in the world today is produced by McCain Foods? Follow us for more fun potato facts!

The whole team had finally arrived in Halifax by 9pm, a mere 16 hours after we set off this morning! Now looking forward to a couple of days R&R before we get our game faces on at Bull Meadow ranges later this week.
