Day 11 – R & R in Quebec Day 2

Wednesday 10th August 2022

Today the team took the opportunity to enjoy cooler weather by visiting Montmoreccy Falls, located on the boundary between the borough of Beauport, and Boischatel, about 12 km (7.5 mi) from the heart of old Quebec City

And also to go ‘Ziplining’, where interesting experiences were encountered. Sadly Nigel Ball, who has been to the Montmorency zipline in 2019 and failed to pass the maximum weight limit for the zip line then, also failed the checks again in 2022 due to being too fat big boned. An alternative theory Nigel proposed was that the cable weight tolerances change based on the prevailing weather conditions making it unable to take his muscular frame. Other members of the team also struggled to a lesser extent. Vertically challenged Kevin required the assistance of a child’s ‘potty step’ to reach the zip line, whereas Seth needed some quiet time to make the necessary adjustments in areas where his harness was ‘less forgiving’. Not content with zip lining, a few of the team even went rock climbing in the afternoon.

Wanting the ultimate in North American entertainment, a large contingent of the team sought out a suitable ‘Dive Bar’ that served wings, bar snacks and copious amounts of alcohol. We were not disappointed. After playing pool and darts and eating the bar out of chicken wings and pizza, we settled into a relaxed evening of drinking and Karaoke. It seems bars in Canada do stay open until 3am!

Well, I might be biased, but I think my old man did exceptionally well and should be mentioned in Despatches…
