Since James started shooting at Uppingham School, he has toured with England and Great Britain senior teams on seventeen previous occasions over the last 23 years. This will be his second shooting visit to New Zealand where in 2010 he won the Ballinger Belt Series before succumbing to the notorious Trentham winds in the final.
A member of the last three GB winning Palma teams he has also earned his “Big Five” Matches badge with some 26 appearances in the qualifying matches. James is now working his way up into the higher age percentiles of the team although happily still an active shooting member of the squad and he has successfully avoided team management positions since the 2011 Palma in Australia (with the exception that he is currently the captain of the British Commonwealth Rifle Club).
James is married to Ellen with young children Edward and Zoë and after 17 years of working for SAP as a sales director he is taking some months off to spend with the family and shooting before starting a new role sometime after the Palma.
