Toby began his shooting career at Aberdour Prep School, but is was Epsom College where he matured into an international competitor, having been part of a winning Ashburton Team on three occasions. His first international tour was to Canada with the Athelings in 1993. Since then he has embarked on a series of successful tours with GB to America, Canada, South Africa and Australia, including three victorious Palma matches. He has also participated in many Mackinnon, National and Kolapore Matches, and finally, after many, many years of waiting, he achieved his Big 5, by representing GB as part of the winning Australia Match team in South Africa 2017. Toby has yet to visit New Zealand and is therefore very excited to do so as part of the team for 2019.
When not on the range, Toby has been known to swing the occasional golf club, although these days, his two young sons seem to occupy more of his non-shooting time. During the week and to earn some money to pay for his shooting tours, Toby is the CEO of Shard Capital, a brokerage and asset management firm based in the City.
