Day 20/21

Luca O'Flynn

To our valued readers,

The last couple of days have been a movie. With shooting sorted and R&R underway, we begun our ‘touring’ phase appropriately by driving over to the astonishing Amanzi game reserve, not far from where we have been staying these past couple of weeks.

This place is hard to describe as it is like nothing else I have experienced before. The smoothies were smooth, the views were exceptional and the animal sanctuary was home to the cutest monkeys ever; and a leopard that was not shy at all.

The main event was undoubtedly the game drive through the reserve on the back of a unimog – an unforgettable experience in itself – but even better, this morning we saw what some of the team had yet to see since arriving in South Africa: GIRAFFE AND ZEBRAS!! – the captain’s lion king obsession definitely earned us good fortune here.

Shortly thereafter, clearly having not fulfilled our love of target sports enough, despite being world champions of an entire discipline, we decided to unleash our competitive sides once again in the Amanzi Archery Championships, in which sadly our Adjutant was the undisputed winner.

It was then only right that we headed back to the range we seem to have been living at since we have been here, to catch the last distance of the first day of the prestigious Palma match and show some love and support for our mentors and biggest supporters, the Palma squad. Go smash it tomorrow guys!!!!
