GBRT Canada 2013

Alastair Brown

Alastair first toured to Canada in 1990, qualifying to shoot in the Lt. Governor’s Final at Camp Borden before going on to shoot in the Governor General’s Final in Connaught, where he was also the younger half of the winning ‘Families’ team that year.  He toured with the Athelings the following year (1991), again shooting in the Governor General’s Final.  Since then, he has toured to the Channel Islands with the successful 2002 NRA Team and in 2009 travelled to Bloemfontein to shoot in the 80th Anniversary SABU Championships.

Alastair enjoys all forms of target rifle team shooting, as a regular member of Wandsworth FBRC, Wimbledon Common RC and County of London teams.  During the 2012 Imperial he had his first success shooting with the newly-formed Hogleas Hall Rifle Club, winning the ‘Opening Shot’ competition.  In October 2012, Alastair achieved his first cap shooting for the winning England team in the European Long Range Championships.

Outside of shooting, Alastair enjoys spending time with his wife Sheila and baby daughter Audrey.  He has also spent the past 18 months renovating a dilapidated house in Wimbledon, which he and his family look forward to moving into one day!
