Richard took up full bore shooting at Winchester, and last toured to Canada with the Athelings in 1993 – exactly 20 years ago. He went on to shoot for Cambridge University, shooting in (and winning) both the target rifle and match rifle varsity matches. However, he lost with Oxford University while studying for an MBA.
He is currently vice captain of Hampshire county, and club secretary of Manydown Rifle Club. He has toured to the US, Canada, Guernsey and Jersey. Individual successes at Bisley include 3rd place in the Queens Final (with an inner last to count over the top). Richard is currently uncapped.
When not shooting, weekends are taken up looking after a 2 ½ year son and, any left over time, kite surfing.
